Amazon’s October Prime Day sale, also called Prime Big Deal Days, is underway and includes discounts on vacuum cleaners, according to CNN, NBC News, Wired and The Verge. NBC News said the sale runs through October 7 and that vacuum deals reach up to 56% off, exclusively for Prime members. CNN described the event as running for just two days. The Verge said the deals are not just for Amazon Prime members, pointing to other retailers such as Best Buy and manufacturers that are also offering promotions. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
The featured products span several vacuum types. CNN pointed to traditional upright vacuums, cordless stick models and robot vacuum-and-mop machines. NBC News listed cordless, upright and robot options. Wired grouped its coverage into robot, upright and stick, and car vacuums. The Verge focused on robot vacuum and mop deals. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
Specific examples in the roundups include a Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team canister vacuum discounted 26% from $499 to $369 at Amazon, according to CNN. NBC News highlighted a Dyson V8 cordless vacuum with a 30-minute runtime, a Shark Navigator upright vacuum for carpet and hardwood, and a cordless Shark model with a 70-minute runtime. Wired listed a Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal robot vacuum at $750, $550 off; a Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro at $485, $315 off; a Dyson V10 Konical at $400, $100 off; a Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro at $210, $70 off; and a Worx Cordless Cube Vac at $84, $36 off. The Verge named the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, Roborock Saros 20, Narwal Flow 2 and Dreame X60 Ultra among robot vacuum and mop deals, without listing prices in the available text. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
Each outlet presented its selections as vetted or recommended. NBC News said its recommended vacuum deals were highly rated, at least 20% off and at their lowest price in at least three months. Wired said its deals included vacuums it had tested and recommended even when they were not on sale. CNN said it prioritized models that had performed well in product testing, and The Verge said some of its favorite models were discounted. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
One point of difference concerns who can get the discounts. NBC News said the vacuum deals were exclusively for Prime members. The Verge said the deals were not just for Prime members, because other retailers like Best Buy and manufacturers were joining the promotion. The documents do not include an Amazon statement about the sale or its terms. [ 2 , 4 ]
Por qué importa
The coverage points to a short window of discounts on major vacuum brands, which may matter to US shoppers considering a purchase. It also indicates that Amazon’s October sales event is reaching categories such as robot vacuums and mops, with other retailers and manufacturers offering competing promotions, according to The Verge.
