The Russian Defence Ministry said Russian forces struck the JTI Ukraine tobacco factory in Kremenchuk, stating that the plant produced ammunition for small arms used by Ukraine's armed forces. The claim was carried by TASS and by Kommersant, both citing the ministry. Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that explosions were heard in Kremenchuk, without giving further detail. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]

In the same statement, reported by Kommersant, the ministry said Russian forces hit the industrial enterprise Umnye Boepripasy in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, where it said FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles and FP-9 operational-tactical missiles were assembled and stored, along with components for them. It said a workshop in Kyiv that assembled and stored Fanplit drones was also struck, and that a mechanical plant in Lozovaya in the Kharkiv region, which it said produced FP-5 Flamingo missiles, was attacked. The ministry further said the Dunai Sudoremont plant in the port of Izmail, which it said produced and stored uncrewed boats and their components, was hit. [ 3 ]

The documents contain no Ukrainian account of the strikes, no casualty figures and no damage assessments. Descriptions of what each site produced rest on the Russian Defence Ministry's account, relayed by TASS for Kremenchuk and by Kommersant for the wider list of targets; no independent or Ukrainian confirmation of the targets' role appears in the documents. [ 2 , 3 ]

RIA Novosti's report was limited to the explosions themselves and did not identify what was hit or by whom, and no outlet in the set reported a response from the factory's owner or from Ukrainian authorities. [ 1 ]

Por qué importa

The reports describe a further round of Russian strikes on Ukrainian industrial sites, with the Russian Defence Ministry presenting them as targeting military production. The documents carry no Ukrainian response, casualty figures or independent confirmation, so the scale and effects of the strikes remain unverified.
