Presidential aide for foreign policy Yuri Ushakov said Russia's trade turnover with CIS countries exceeded $110 billion in 2025, Vedomosti reported. Ushakov said that in the first half of 2026 the volume of mutual trade grew by a further 12%. TASS also reported that Ushakov announced the trade figure exceeding $110 billion, and RIA Novosti reported that he spoke about Russia-CIS trade turnover. [ 1 , 3 ]
Ushakov further said that a stable financial infrastructure has been formed in the CIS space which does not depend on external influence, and that Russian remains the main connecting link across the Commonwealth, according to Vedomosti. [ 3 ]
Vedomosti also recalled an earlier statement by Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov on 16 September that more than half of Russia's exports to CIS countries consist of complex industrial goods. He said deliveries include metallurgical products, energy, agricultural and railway equipment, as well as a number of automotive items, adding that “our trade with these countries has shown stable positive dynamics for many years”. Por qué importa
The figures were presented by a senior Kremlin official as evidence of continued trade growth with post-Soviet partners and of financial arrangements insulated from outside pressure. Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov's earlier comment that most Russian exports to the CIS are complex industrial goods frames the relationship as a market for machinery rather than raw materials. The documents give no independent data or third-party assessment of the numbers.
