RIA Novosti reported that Nikolai Makarov (Николай Макаров) scored the game's only goal in the 22nd minute. The opening period ended scoreless, Lada scored in the second, and neither team scored in the third. The win ended Lada's run of 10 consecutive defeats, according to RIA Novosti. With eight points, the Tolyatti club moved into 10th place, the next-to-last position in the Western Conference standings. SKA remained eighth with 17 points after suffering a fifth consecutive loss.
