Changchuan Technology (长川科技, 300604.SZ) said in an announcement on 21 October that it expects net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of 1.715 billion to 1.815 billion yuan for the first three quarters of 2026. That would be an increase of 98.17% to 109.73% year on year. Jiemian (界面新闻) said the company's profit in the same period a year earlier was 865 million yuan. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
According to CLS (财联社), the company said the change mainly reflected continued growth in semiconductor market demand, strong demand from its customers and ample product orders. Sales revenue rose sharply from a year earlier, economies of scale became more evident and the net profit margin improved, the company said. It expects non-recurring gains and losses of about 48 million yuan for the first three quarters, mainly from government subsidies received in the reporting period. [ 1 , 4 ]
CLS added its own calculation. Third-quarter net profit is expected to be 751 million to 851 million yuan. Against second-quarter net profit of 611 million yuan, CLS said this implies growth of 22% to 39% quarter on quarter. [ 1 ]
On 22 October, Jiemian cited the forecast in an item on the Penghua semiconductor ETF (159813), which it said had net subscriptions of 15 million units during the session. It quoted CITIC Securities Construction Investment (中信建投证券) as saying AI computing power and a storage recovery are together driving strong conditions in the industry. As of 10:22 the ETF's underlying index, the Guozheng Semiconductor Chip Index (国证半导体芯片指数, 980017), was down 2.15%. Jiemian said Changchuan Technology was among the index's ten largest weights as of 30 September. [ 4 ]
Why it matters
The outlets report the forecast as a company announcement, and the figures show a large rise in profit for a semiconductor-sector company. One outlet also linked the news to semiconductor ETF inflows and broker commentary on the industry, but the documents do not show how the forecast affected the company's shares.
