The LG Twins beat the NC Dinos 6-1 at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Oct. 6, ending an eight-game losing streak, according to the Chosun Ilbo and Yonhap. Austin Dean hit a three-run home run, his 41st of the season, in the first inning, Moon Bo-kyung added his 10th, a solo shot, in the same inning, and Song Chan-ui hit his 16th in the sixth, Yonhap reported. The Chosun Ilbo reported that Park Si-won did well in a starting role and that Go Woo-suk escaped a pressured situation. [ 3 , 5 , 6 , 7 ]

The win followed a collapse. The Dong-A Ilbo reported that LG lost 4-6 to KIA at Jamsil on Oct. 5, when Go Woo-suk allowed a three-run home run to Kim Do-young with two outs in the ninth inning while protecting a 4-3 lead. LG had lost eight straight since a Sept. 24 home game against the Lotte Giants and had dropped to fourth, with fifth-placed Doosan two games back, the paper said. The Dong-A Ilbo said LG's chance of finishing second and going directly to the playoffs was gone, and that the club risked playing no post-season home games at all. [ 2 ]

KIA's own result kept LG in the race for third. Yonhap reported that KIA lost 4-5 at home to Samsung despite Kim Do-young hitting his 43rd home run of the season, a three-run shot in the third inning, and adding a sacrifice fly in the fifth to drive in all four KIA runs. Gwak Do-gyu allowed a game-tying two-run home run to Kim Seong-yun in the seventh and Seong Yeong-tak gave up the go-ahead solo home run to Park Gye-beom in the eighth, the agency said. The two clubs ended the day level on winning percentage: KIA at .5474 (75-62-2) and LG at .5468 (76-63-1), according to Yonhap. [ 5 , 7 ]

The same day produced the first two-player 200-hit season in KBO history. Yonhap reported that kt wiz's Choi Won-jun doubled off Kiwoom's Park Jun-hyun to become the first player to 200 hits this season, the third such season in league history and the first by a Korean player since Seo Geon-chang's 201 in 2014. Lotte's Victor Reyes reached 200 with a fourth-inning single off Doosan's Gwak Bin and added his 17th home run, leaving both players on 201 hits, one short of Reyes's record of 202 set in 2024, the agency said. The Chosun Ilbo described the batting race as the tightest the league has seen. [ 4 , 5 , 8 ]

Yonhap also reported that kt, already confirmed as regular-season champion, beat Kiwoom 10-1 for a seventh straight win; that Doosan beat Lotte 3-1 and stayed two games behind LG in fifth; that Hanwha beat SSG 9-2; and that LG's Park Hae-min recorded his 40th steal of the season and the 500th of his career. Jamsil and Gwangju both sold out, giving the KBO a single-season record of 332 sellouts, up from 331 in 2025, according to the agency. [ 5 ]

Por qué importa

The result keeps the KBO's race for third place level going into the closing games, with playoff seeding and possible post-season home games at stake for LG and KIA. The same day produced two 200-hit players for the first time in league history and a record 332 sold-out games, which Yonhap presented as evidence of a strong late-season draw.
