Russia's Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that units of the "West" grouping of Russian forces prevented a rotation by Ukraine's army near the eastern shore of the Krasnooskolskoye reservoir in the DNR, Interfax reported. According to the ministry, crews of Giatsint-S self-propelled guns destroyed strongpoints, the vehicles the Ukrainian side was using to move in reinforcements, and concentrations of Ukrainian personnel. [ 3 ]
The ministry said that during air reconnaissance, drone crews detected the movement of Ukrainian vehicles and personnel and passed the coordinates to a firing position, and that real-time objective control footage confirmed the destruction of the targets, Interfax reported. TASS carried the same announcement in shorter form. [ 2 , 3 ]
Two days earlier, TASS reported that fighters of the "West" grouping had struck Ukrainian aircraft-type drones near the shore of the Krasnooskolskoye reservoir. The documents do not say whether that episode and the reported disruption of the rotation are part of the same fighting or separate incidents. [ 1 ]
All the accounts come from Russian official and business outlets citing the Russian Defense Ministry. The documents contain no Ukrainian comment, no casualty or equipment figures, and no independent confirmation of the ministry's claims, and they name no settlement near the reservoir, only the reservoir itself. Why it matters
The reports are part of Russia's official daily account of fighting along the Krasnooskolskoye reservoir, a sector of the front in the DNR. They reach a domestic Russian audience mainly through state and business wires, which relay Defense Ministry statements without independent verification, so they carry weight as official claims rather than as independently confirmed battlefield outcomes.
