NHN Data adds account-protection features to Instagram DM tool SocialBiz
In short
NHN Data said it expanded account-protection features in SocialBiz, its Instagram direct-message automation marketing tool, as user concerns grow over Instagram account and content restrictions. The additions include an hourly DM sending cap, a “default message” that asks users to request information before any promotional message, automatic pausing of comment auto-replies during sudden surges, and a way to check whether posts or reels are restricted. CEO Lee Jin-su said the company will keep adapting the service to Meta’s operating policy changes.

NHN Data said it strengthened the account-protection features of SocialBiz, its Instagram direct-message automation marketing solution, in response to growing user concern about Instagram account and content restrictions. The company announced the update on October 7, according to Seoul Economic Daily. Two technology outlets reported the same move, describing measures aimed at reducing risks that can arise when automated functions are used. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
The tool now sets an hourly limit on DM sending, so that comment replies and DMs are spread out according to a configured volume when responses surge during events or on popular posts. Message policy was also revised: instead of sending promotional content in the first DM, SocialBiz sends a “default message” that encourages users to request the information they need first, with a new function to insert the recipient’s name for personalised messages. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
For comments, the system detects when responses to a post rise sharply and identical replies are registered in succession, and temporarily suspends comment auto-replies on the grounds that such patterns could be judged abnormal activity. DMs already scheduled continue to be sent, and the auto-reply function returns to normal after a set period. A further addition lets administrators see on the SocialBiz dashboard whether a post or reel has been restricted on Instagram, so they can check content status when replies or DMs suddenly stop sending. NHN Data said it judged that a DM automation service must not only send messages automatically but also track Meta’s policy changes quickly and respond to them, and that it has been monitoring the platform’s operating policies while improving the features. One outlet described SocialBiz as developed by NHN Data in collaboration with Meta, while the other two said it uses Meta’s official API. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
“SocialBiz will continue to strengthen its technical capabilities and evolve in line with changes to Meta’s operating policies,” CEO Lee Jin-su said, adding that the company would do its utmost to protect customer accounts stably so that brands and influencers can focus on marketing and content production. [ 2 , 3 ]
Beyond DM automation, SocialBiz offers “Insight,” which analyses account activity data, and “Link,” which connects multiple pieces of content and external channels on a single page, as the company expands the service’s scope. NHN Data said it plans to keep upgrading the account-protection features in line with future changes to Meta’s operating policies. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
Why it matters
The move highlights how marketing tools built on Meta’s official API are being adjusted to keep client accounts from being limited or blocked, an operational risk for brands and influencers running automated campaigns. It also shows a Korean software vendor positioning policy compliance with a foreign platform as a selling point in the marketing-automation market.
