JAC Motors and HIMA (鸿蒙智行) responded on October 8 to a Dongchedi (懂车帝) test of the Zunjie (尊界) V800 MPV. According to reports, Dongchedi tested three V800 vehicles and said that during emergency braking from 100 km/h to a stop the brake pedal bracket broke when stepped on. Topics including "Zunjie V800 brake pedal bracket broken" and "JAC hit limit down" then appeared on trending search lists, CLS, Jiemian and IT Home reported. [ 3 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 12 ]

A JAC Motors representative told Lanjing Auto (蓝鲸汽车) reporter Li Zhuoling (李卓玲) that the company was paying attention to the matter. Later, JAC told a reporter that it was investigating, carrying out tests with several parties and would issue an official explanation once it had results, CLS reported. [ 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 ]

HIMA said it had not yet received any feedback involving the brake pedal and that vehicle delivery times were normal, according to CLS, Yicai, Jiemian and IT Home, with Jiemian and IT Home citing The Paper. [ 8 , 9 , 11 , 12 ]

IT Home reported that JAC shares hit the daily limit down on the morning of October 8 and closed at 24.72 yuan. Citing Sina Tech, it said JAC's investor relations department stated that the matter had been reported to the relevant departments. Asked about the share price, a staff member said the company's production and operations were normal, that vehicles go through quality-control processes before leaving the factory, and that people could follow subsequent news. The Zunjie V800 is a luxury MPV developed jointly by HIMA and JAC that went on sale on August 5, 2026, in three versions starting at 766,000, 866,000 and 1,016,000 yuan, IT Home reported. It measures 5,495 by 2,006 by 1,850 mm with a 3,430 mm wheelbase and has a CLTC electric range of up to 340 km and a combined range of up to 1,335 km. Why it matters

The V800 is a joint HIMA and JAC MPV priced from 766,000 to 1,016,000 yuan that began deliveries in September, so a reported brake component failure touches both a newly launched model and its maker's shares. JAC has said an official statement will follow its investigation, which will determine how the claim is resolved.
