Lotte Mart and Lotte Super launched potato-pancake-flavoured potato chips on October 15 in collaboration with Gangwon province and Haitai Confectionery. The product, Saengsaeng Gamjachip Gamjajeon-mat (생생감자칩 감자전맛), comes in an 80-gram bag, Newsis reported. It uses about 70 tonnes of Seolbong potatoes bought from farms in Gangwon. The partners described it as a product intended to expand sales channels for local agricultural produce and promote the region. [ 6 ]

Launch-day reports said around 80,000 bags would be offered as a limited release at 106 Lotte Mart and 350 Lotte Super stores. Earlier October 14 reports gave total production as 180,000 bags at Haitai's Munmak factory in Wonju and identified 7-Eleven convenience stores as another retail channel. Seoul Shinmun reported a price of 2,380 won for an 80-gram bag and a 100-won launch discount through October 28. The earlier reports described production and broader distribution, while the launch-day coverage specified the allocation sold through Lotte Mart and Lotte Super. [ 1 , 2 , 5 , 6 ]

The packaging features Gangwon's regional characters. Lotte Mart and Lotte Super said they would discount the new product and other Haitai potato snacks through October 28 and install special potato-market displays at nine key stores. The collaboration follows a Gangwon corn-flavoured chip product introduced in October last year. Yonhap reported that the province also planned to promote the chips with a 3D animation showing the process of turning potato pancakes into chips. A provincial spokesperson said the collaboration combined purchases of farm produce with promotion of Gangwon's characters. [ 1 , 6 ]
