Daebo Group said on Oct. 5 that it will raise the total prize money for the Daebo Housedy Championship, the 2026 season finale of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) tour, to 1.2 billion won from 1 billion won, and the winner’s prize to 300 million won from 250 million won. Yonhap and Seoul Economic Daily reported that both amounts are the highest ever for a KLPGA season-ending event. The sixth edition of the tournament will be held Nov. 6-8 at the Seowon Hills course of Seowon Valley Country Club in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. [ 2 , 6 ]

Kukmin Ilbo, Seoul Shinmun, Korea Economic Daily and Newsis also reported the prize increase in their headlines. Yonhap reported in a later summary that the KLPGA said the total prize rose 200 million won from last year, while its earlier report attributed the announcement to host Daebo Group. Daebo Group said the increase is meant to keep the race for the season prize-money title tense through the final hole. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 ]

The field will consist of players who qualify through the prize-money standings and invited amateurs. Daebo Group said it will not use its sponsor invitation or recommendation rights for professionals and will allocate them to amateur players instead, in line with the tournament’s aim of broadening golf’s base and developing future talent. The qualifiers will be finalised after the previous tournament ends. [ 2 , 6 ]

The Seowon Hills course replaced its fairway grass from Kentucky bluegrass to Korean zoysia in the spring to improve course quality, Yonhap reported. Daebo Group said the course, which has hosted a number of tournaments, will feature strategically placed bunkers and fast greens. Attention is also on whether Daebo Golf Team players Seo Eo-jin, Song Eun-ah and Yang Hyo-jin can take a first title at their sponsor’s event this season. [ 2 , 6 ]

Choi Deung-kyu, chairman of Daebo Group, said the prize money was increased “to thank the players and fans who showed the best skills through the year and to keep the tension until the final event,” adding that he hopes the tournament will share “emotion and enjoyment” and help people in need. The tournament will continue the spirit of the Green Concert with social contribution programs. Funds accumulated when tee shots land in the “Housedy Zone” and “Didimdol Foundation Zone” on the course will be donated to the Didimdol Foundation, a non-profit that supports young golf prospects. On Nov. 5, the day before the tournament, Daebo Golf Team players will hold a one-point lesson for children supported by the foundation. [ 2 ]

Daebo Group, founded in 1981, has expanded into construction, retail, telecommunications and leisure and has about 2 trillion won in revenue and about 4,000 employees, Yonhap reported. It has held the Seowon Valley charity Green Concert since 2000; the 22nd edition recorded 670,000 cumulative visitors and about 10 billion won in cumulative donations, with the 23rd set for May 29 next year. Why it matters

The increase gives the KLPGA’s season-ending event its largest prize pool, which the host says will keep the season-long prize-money race close until the final hole. The tournament also reserves places for invited amateurs and runs charity programs, which Daebo Group describes as part of its stated aim of broadening golf’s base in South Korea.
