Russian Security Council deputy chairman Dmitry Medvedev said the results of weapons tests showed that Russia's science and industry could produce weapons with no equivalents worldwide. RIA Novosti reported his remarks on October 12 in a video he published after a working trip to the Southern Federal District. Vedomosti reported that he made the comments on the Max messaging service. [ 2 , 4 ]
Medvedev said joint work was continuing to improve prospective weapons, including guided rockets, long-range, artillery and loitering munitions. He also listed unmanned aerial vehicles, counter-drone systems and systems for protecting facilities. RIA Novosti reported that he recalled a range of Russian defence industry products being presented to President Vladimir Putin during the Centre-2026 exercises. [ 2 , 4 ]
Vedomosti placed the remarks alongside earlier statements about defence production. It reported that Putin said on September 18 that Russia's defence industry included more than 5,000 organisations employing over 3.5 million people. Putin said production and deliveries of weapons and ammunition, including precision missiles and shells, had increased more than 22-fold since the start of what the report called the special operation. Deliveries of radar stations had increased almost fivefold, according to his statement. [ 4 ]
The same report cited an October 6 Defence Ministry statement that the Russian armed forces received more than 10,000 units of weapons and military and specialised equipment in September. The listed deliveries included Su-57 and Su-35S aircraft, T-90M, T-80BVM and T-72B3M tanks, air defence systems and armoured vehicles. [ 4 ]
