Five people have been hospitalized in St Petersburg in connection with a possible case of monkeypox, according to the inter-regional Rospotrebnadzor office for St Petersburg and the Leningrad region. TASS, RIA Novosti and RBC all reported the hospitalizations, describing a suspected case. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
RIA Novosti, citing the agency's channel on the Max platform, said specialists immediately began a sanitary and epidemiological investigation after receiving information about the possible case. The agency said: "In the course of the epidemiological investigation, work is under way to identify contacts. Five people are hospitalized and under medical observation."
