Singer Gangnam helped a woman who was flailing in the water inside a cave during a trip to Guam, Newsis, Dong-A Ilbo, Chosun Ilbo and Seoul Economic Daily reported. The scene is from a video titled "Guam Exploration Record" (괌 탐방기), released on the 28th on the YouTube channel Insaeng84 (인생84). [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]
Dong-A Ilbo and Seoul Economic Daily said the video shows Kian84 (기안84), described as a webtoon artist and TV personality, travelling in Guam for two nights and three days with actor Lee Si-eon (이시언) and Gangnam. The three met a mountain guide and went to a cave in a forest. The guide called it a cave swimming pool and said it had no waves and was freshwater. The group put on life jackets and swam in the lake inside the cave. [ 4 , 5 ]
In the shorter account carried by Newsis, Dong-A Ilbo and Chosun Ilbo, Kian84 remarked while swimming in the cave, "Did foreigners pee a bit? The water is salty." Gangnam said it tasted slightly of seawater, and the guide said the cave is connected to the sea. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
Then a woman was seen unable to touch the bottom and flailing. Newsis said Gangnam held her and asked, "Are you okay?" Dong-A Ilbo and Seoul Economic Daily said she was a Korean tourist who had entered the cave with the group and was startled by water deeper than expected. They said Lee Si-eon shouted, "Gangnam, grab that person, watch your head," and Gangnam swam to her. [ 1 , 4 , 5 ]
The woman said she was sorry and that her feet had suddenly not touched the bottom, according to all of the outlets. Newsis, Dong-A Ilbo and Chosun Ilbo said she expressed thanks in the short account, and the longer Dong-A Ilbo and Seoul Economic Daily accounts said she was very startled. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]
Dong-A Ilbo and Seoul Economic Daily said the video then showed a caption saying a guide and safety equipment are required. Seoul Economic Daily added that the video urged viewers to follow a guide's instructions when exploring caves. [ 4 , 5 ]
