Polestar Korea sold 769 vehicles in September, its highest monthly total since entering the Korean market, according to KAIDA new-registration data cited by Asia Economy and Newsis. Newsis reported the result placed the brand within the top 10 imported car brands in Korea, a ranking the other documents do not address. Korea Economic Daily's headline also described September as a record month. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]

Asia Economy reported that cumulative registrations from January to September reached 3,719 units, exceeding the 2,957 units registered in the whole of last year. The outlet said the company had set an annual target of 4,000 units earlier this year and has been expanding its position in the premium EV segment around the Polestar 4. [ 1 ]

The Polestar 4 accounted for 688 of the September registrations and 3,608 units cumulatively from January to September, the most among European EVs in Korea, according to Asia Economy. Both Asia Economy and Korea Economic Daily tied the record month to the clearing of the Polestar 4 delivery backlog. The Polestar 3, a flagship electric SUV launched in July, sold 81 units last month, and Asia Economy said the rear-motor variant has completed range certification, completing the lineup. [ 1 , 2 ]

Asia Economy also reported that the company expanded its retail network in Daegu and Ilsan and ran marketing activities using brand ambassadors to widen customer contact points. [ 1 ]

Why it matters

The figures indicate Polestar's Korean business grew through 2026 on the back of the Polestar 4 and the July launch of the Polestar 3, and Newsis reported the brand moved into the top 10 among imported car brands. For a small import brand competing in Korea's premium EV segment, sustained volume depends on whether the newly completed Polestar 3 lineup adds sales beyond the Polestar 4.
