Singer Baek Ji-young explained why she once disliked fellow singer Seo In-young in a video posted on October 7 on Seo's YouTube channel 'Gaegwacheonseon Seo In-young', several Korean newspapers reported. Seo visited Baek's home for the episode, and Baek prepared sujebi, a hand-torn noodle soup, which Seo had wanted to eat, according to Dong-A Ilbo. [ 2 , 3 , 5 ]
Dong-A Ilbo reported that Baek said a friend she remains close to and Seo had misunderstood and disliked each other, so she disliked Seo as well, and that she blamed herself. In a separate report, Dong-A Ilbo said Baek first said she could not remember the reason at all; Seo suggested it might involve an acquaintance of Baek's with whom Seo had fallen out, adding that Baek is loyal, before Baek said she remembered. Seo also said that when they first met, she was with her group Jewelry, and that Baek favoured Lyn and Jewelry member Jung-ah, with whom Baek said she was close. [ 2 , 3 ]
Recalling a waiting-room incident, Baek said Seo had come to see Lyn, who shared a waiting room with her. Baek said she was sitting on a sofa behind the make-up table, and when the two laughed she told Seo it was too noisy. She said singling out Seo with 'Seo In-young, be quiet' was wrong, Dong-A Ilbo reported. [ 2 ]
According to Maeil Business, Baek said both had strong public personas but neither had actually mistreated juniors. Seo then raised a rumour that she had taken IU to a bathroom and beaten her, saying she was not close to IU. Baek joked, 'You probably hit her because you weren't close,' and said she could now see why the rumour spread. [ 5 ]
Chosun Ilbo, carrying an OSEN report, said Seo also discussed her hiatus and her concerns about marriage with Baek. [ 4 ]
