Gryphline announced on Oct 7 that its 3D real-time strategy RPG Arknights: Endfield will launch on Steam on Oct 15, alongside a new version named Dancheongdo. The Steam version supports cross-platform play, so existing players can continue the data they have already built up, according to Inven and Kyunghyang Games. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
In Dancheongdo, the story begins with the operator Sa inviting the injured manager to the “인연 마을 객잔,” the inn she runs, which sits inside a landscape painting she drew herself. Strange phenomena in the surrounding mountains lead the story back to the connection between Sa and the manager dating from 10 years earlier, Gamemeca and Kyunghyang Games reported. Exploration uses Sa's brush to build bridges across broken space. [ 2 , 3 ]
Two new playable operators are added. Sa extracts “묵혼” from enemies to deal damage and effects even when they leave her attack range, can interrupt charging attacks and strengthens cold- and heat-attribute allies, according to Gamemeca and Kyunghyang Games. Myeongha combines sword and spear techniques with mounted charges on her horse “노여,” leaping into the air for a finishing attack; Gamemeca said her past can be seen through a story event. Both are obtained through recruitment events held sequentially during the update period. [ 2 , 3 ]
The Crisis Contract combat mode returns as a new season called “잿빛 실험 작전.” Players combine advantages and constraints to set the difficulty, and under some conditions enemies gain additional attack patterns; the challenge settings system was also improved so options are easier to select and reuse. A life-content feature, “불꽃으로 맺은 인연,” lets players grow crops, raise animals and run a rural inn, with agricultural automation equipment provided and the function also usable in the Mureung farming area as the story progresses. Kyunghyang Games also listed convenience improvements: saving equipment presets, mouse controls, priority settings for combo skills that trigger simultaneously, and the ability to build facilities using materials stored in the warehouse without carrying them. For the game's first service anniversary, Gryphline will hold a “1st anniversary Fes” at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 in Ilsan from Jan 9 to 10, 2027, and a second-creation contest with Naver Webtoon from Oct 13 to Nov 8. Why it matters
The Steam launch widens Arknights: Endfield beyond its existing platforms, and the cross-platform support lets current players carry their progress over.
