Pearl Abyss released a Black Desert update on Oct. 7 that raises the character maximum level from 70 to 75 and reorganises the character level and experience acquisition system, according to Gamemeca and Kyunghyang Games. Both outlets said the update reflects content the company presented at the Heidel Ball held in California in July. [ 1 , 2 ]
Kyunghyang Games reported that characters growing toward level 75 can gain additional attack power and monster damage reduction on top of their displayed stats, and that experience gains were adjusted by level bracket to match the higher cap. The hunting-ground information screen was changed so players can see as a number how much experience is obtained from monsters appearing in each area, Gamemeca reported. [ 1 , 2 ]
Inven's patch summary listed additional changes: stat growth unified across all classes, the addition of a class-common skill, additional stats granted at level 70 and above, a reduced experience requirement for levelling up, changed experience limits for killing monsters and level colour rules, and a new combat secret manual. The other two documents do not mention these items. [ 3 ]
Alongside the progression changes, Pearl Abyss is running a dream horse acquisition event until Nov. 4. Players who complete weekly requests from the NPC Merindora in Velia can receive rewards including an 8th-generation golden horse, a mount skill change ticket, an event dream horse selection box and a dream-calling incense burner, according to Gamemeca and Kyunghyang Games. Both outlets said players can obtain a trace of fantasy through challenge tasks and combine it with a feather of dream to get an additional dream-calling incense burner. [ 1 , 2 ]
A donation event runs from Oct. 7 to Oct. 21, in which players buy a donation angel teddy bear from the NPC Lara in Heidel and hand it in, the two outlets reported. Pearl Abyss said that after the event ends it will pass treatment support funds to children with rare diseases through Make-A-Wish Korea. [ 1 , 2 ]
The documents give no figures for player numbers affected by the update or for the size of the planned donation. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
Why it matters
