Lotte Giants sign all 11 draft picks; Park Geun-seo receives 300 million won

The Lotte Giants said on October 11 that they had completed contracts with all 11 players they selected in the 2027 KBO rookie draft. Park Geun-seo (박근서), the left-handed pitcher selected fourth overall in the first round, received a 300 million won signing bonus. Newsis reported that Lotte had chosen him in the draft held on September 21. Second-round selection Bae Jong-yun (배종윤), an outfielder, signed for 150 million won, while third-round pitcher Lee Hyeon-min (이현민) received 100 million won. [ 2 , 3 ]

Yonhap and Newsis described Park as a prospect whose fastball approaches 150 kilometers per hour and who can handle substantial innings. The reports relayed an assessment of him as a left-handed starting option able to maintain composure in difficult situations. Park drew attention before his professional debut when his father celebrated his first-round selection by singing La Bamba at the draft. In an interview carried by Chosun Ilbo, the 18-year-old said he wanted to become the player people first associate with Lotte. All 11 rookies attended a Rookie Day event at Sajik stadium in Busan to greet home supporters, the reports said. They differ on the event's date: Yonhap and Newsis place it on October 10, while the Chosun Ilbo interview describes it as October 11. That interview said the rookies tried work at the Giants cafe and ball-boy duties as part of the event.
