The Kiwoom Heroes announced on October 11 that infielder Oh Seon-jin (오선진) had decided to retire, ending a professional career spanning 19 years. Yonhap reported that Oh, 37, finished with 1,295 appearances across 17 seasons, a .239 batting average, 680 hits, 19 home runs and 251 runs batted in. Newsis also listed 296 runs scored and 59 stolen bases in his career totals. This season, Oh appeared in 61 games for Kiwoom and batted .191, according to Newsis and Chosun Ilbo. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
Oh entered professional baseball after Hanwha selected him in the fourth round of the second stage of the 2008 rookie draft. Chosun Ilbo reported that he moved to Samsung in a trade in June 2021 and spent two seasons there. After the 2022 season, he returned to Hanwha as a free agent. He subsequently moved to Lotte through the second draft and played one season there before being released. He then continued his career with Kiwoom, whose uniform he had worn since 2025. In comments released through the club, Oh said he was grateful to finish at Kiwoom after starting at Hanwha and passing through Samsung and Lotte. He said being able to play baseball for 19 years was itself a source of good fortune and thanked everyone who had accompanied him during that time. Oh also said Kiwoom had many young and talented players.
