Samsung Electronics said on 20 October that it has released 19 key works from galleries taking part in Art Basel Paris 2026 on Samsung Art Store. Asia Economy described them as digital content. The fair is held at the Grand Palais in Paris until 25 October, according to Yonhap, Newsis and Chosun Ilbo. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
The collection includes Poppies #4 by Elene Shatberashvili, an artist from Georgia, and The Lounge (black and white) by Hans Op de Beeck, an artist from Belgium. Newsis said The Lounge shows an interior space arranged with various small objects in grey monotone. Chosun Ilbo said Poppies #4 depicts a still life in rich colour. Asia Economy said the collection consists of paintings and sculptural works that reinterpret still lifes and landscapes encountered in daily life. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
The works can be viewed on Samsung's art TV lineup, which Asia Economy, Yonhap and Chosun Ilbo list as The Frame Pro, The Frame, Micro RGB and OLED (SH95). Asia Economy and Newsis said the screens have a special coating that scatters light in several directions, which reduces reflections in daylight or lit rooms. Chosun Ilbo said Samsung explained that 4K picture quality and anti-reflection technology reproduce the colours and textures of the works. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
Daria Green (다리아 그린), head of content curation for Samsung Art Store, said the collection reinterprets familiar themes in different ways. She said Samsung hopes viewers around the world can enjoy a range of artistic perspectives at home. Chosun Ilbo also quoted Karim Kripa (카림 크리파), director of Art Basel Paris, who said the collaboration lets audiences worldwide see the works without limits of time and space after the fair ends. [ 1 , 3 , 4 ]
Yonhap, Newsis and Chosun Ilbo described Samsung Art Store as a subscription service for Samsung TVs, available in more than 117 countries. Yonhap and Chosun Ilbo said it offers more than 5,000 works. The three outlets said Samsung has partnered with Art Basel fairs in Hong Kong, Basel, Paris and Miami Beach, and Asia Economy said it has done so every year. Chosun Ilbo called Samsung an official display partner of the Paris fair. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
Why it matters
