Portugal coach Jesus says Ronaldo can return, calls conflict inflated
Version 2: A business outlet added the coach's fuller framing, saying the conflict with Ronaldo was inflated, that the situation is not unresolvable and that he set a condition for a return, while the state agencies continued to report only that a comeback is possible.
In short
Portugal coach Jorge Jesus said he is ready to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back into the national team, according to TASS and RIA Novosti. TASS quoted Jesus as calling what happened between him and the player a misunderstanding that can easily be resolved, and RIA Novosti reported Ronaldo can return whenever he wants. RBC later reported the coach described the conflict as inflated and said the situation is not unresolvable. None of the reports said what the disagreement involved or when a return might happen.
Why it matters
The statements point to a possible end to a standoff between the coach and Portugal's most prominent player, which would affect the national team's squad. The documents give no date or conditions for a return, so the practical effect is not yet clear.
