In short

Zhipu’s Hong Kong-listed shares rose more than 5% on Oct 5, with Chinese business and tech outlets reporting the gain through the afternoon. CLS attributed the move to overseas recognition for the company’s GLM models, saying the AI coding tool Cursor added GLM-5.3 and GLM-5.3-Flash and that Germany’s Aleph Alpha disclosed using GLM in a new model. Other outlets reported only the share price change.

Zhipu’s Hong Kong-listed shares (02513.HK) rose more than 5%, four Chinese outlets reported on 5 October 2026. CLS put the gain at more than 5% at 13:22 local time, Yicai reported the same at 13:24, tech outlet 36Kr at 13:27 and Jiemian, which said the increase widened to over 5%, at 13:52. None of the reports gave a closing price or a trading volume. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]

CLS said that on the news side, Zhipu’s GLM series models had recently won overseas recognition. The outlet said the AI coding tool Cursor announced it had launched GLM-5.3 and GLM-5.3-Flash, and that Cursor said GLM-5.3 achieved the highest score among open-weight models on its own CursorBench 4.0 coding benchmark under the Max reasoning setting. The official leaderboard showed the model scored 42.6%, CLS reported. [ 1 ]

The same outlet reported that Germany’s sovereign AI developer Aleph Alpha disclosed use of GLM in its new model Kolibri. Yicai, 36Kr and Jiemian reported the share movement without giving a reason for it. No document included a statement from Zhipu, and none described the terms or scope of the overseas use of its models. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]

Why it matters

The reports link a listed Chinese AI developer’s share move to overseas adoption of its models at a time when foreign developers are choosing among open-weight options. Because only one document gives the model details, and none gives a company comment or contract terms, the scale and commercial nature of that overseas use remain unestablished.
