OpenAI will make its AI models available through Google Cloud, according to CNBC, Axios and SiliconANGLE. Reuters headlined its report 'OpenAI to sell its top models on Google Cloud in latest enterprise push'. SiliconANGLE dated its report 21 October 2026. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 5 ]

Under the agreement, Google Cloud customers will be able to buy OpenAI's frontier models through Google's 'Model Garden and Marketplace', including by using existing cloud spending commitments, Axios reported. The deal also brings OpenAI models to Google's Antigravity development environment and Gemini Agent, and general availability is planned in the coming weeks, Axios said. CNBC likewise reported that GPT products would arrive in the Model Garden and the Antigravity coding tool in the coming weeks. Axios also mentioned OpenAI's Codex coding tools. [ 1 , 2 ]

SiliconANGLE reported that the first model is GPT-6 Astra, which it described as OpenAI's flagship. It said Astra produced several AI-generated math discoveries the company has published recently and scored perfectly on the ExploitBench benchmark. According to OpenAI, the model causes 'fewer misaligned outcomes' than the other frontier models it has evaluated. Customers will also get GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, scaled-down versions of Astra launched in late September that trade some output quality for lower token prices, SiliconANGLE said. It reported that Sol and Luna cost five and 100 times less than Astra, respectively. Ars Technica's summary names the models as 'GPT 6.1 Astra, Sol, and Luna', which differs slightly from SiliconANGLE's naming. [ 4 , 5 ]

'We are focused on giving customers a broad selection of models, including those from OpenAI, so they can choose the right model for any given job, helping to deliver optimal quality and lower costs,' said Google Cloud Chief Executive Thomas Kurian. SiliconANGLE said the Model Garden gives access to more than 200 neural networks from Google, its partners and the open-source ecosystem. It added that letting customers use long-term spending commitments removes the need to set up a new AI budget. [ 5 ]

CNBC said the move puts OpenAI's models on all three of the top cloud infrastructure providers and reflects a push to expand distribution to enterprise developers. It reported that less than six months ago OpenAI said Microsoft would no longer have the exclusive license on its intellectual property, and that Amazon unveiled plans to host OpenAI models the day after that ended. CNBC also said Google's cloud annualized revenue growth accelerated to about 82% in the second quarter from 63% in the first, while Amazon and Microsoft posted 37% and 42%. All three report quarterly results next week, CNBC said. [ 1 ]

Axios said the agreement gives OpenAI another way to reach corporate customers without requiring them to set up a separate relationship with the ChatGPT maker. For Google, it means selling a competitor's AI models alongside its own Gemini offerings, Axios reported. [ 2 ]
