A 57-year-old man was killed in a drone attack on the Klimovsk microdistrict of the Podolsk urban district in the Moscow region, Governor Andrei Vorobyov said on 8 October. "As a result of a drone attack in the Klimovsk microdistrict of the Podolsk urban district, a 57-year-old man was killed," Vorobyov wrote in his channel on Max, Interfax reported. According to preliminary information from the governor, a 37-year-old woman was also injured, Interfax and Vedomosti reported. Her condition was being clarified, Kommersant and Vedomosti said, and Vedomosti added that she would be given the necessary help. [ 4 , 5 , 6 ]
On 50-letiya Oktyabrya Avenue, three cars caught fire after the attack, and the fire was put out, Kommersant and Vedomosti reported, citing the governor. Windows were damaged in an apartment building, which Vedomosti described as nearby. The building's load-bearing structures were not damaged, and Vorobyov said there was no threat to residents. Emergency services continued working at the scene, with specialists surveying the area and recording all the damage. "We will certainly help residents with everything they need," Vorobyov wrote, according to Kommersant. [ 4 , 6 ]
Vedomosti reported that the Moscow region had come under a large drone attack two days earlier, in which two people were killed and nine were injured; 185 drones were shot down or suppressed over 16 municipalities of the region, and 47 private houses were damaged. On the night of 8 October, air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 399 drones over Russian regions and the Black Sea, according to the Defence Ministry, which listed the Moscow region among the areas where drones were shot down, Vedomosti said.
