Air defence forces were repelling a drone attack on the Omsk region on Thursday, 8 October, Governor Vitaly Khotsenko said. "Air defence forces of the Russian Defence Ministry are repelling an enemy attack on our region. All operational services of the region have been put on high alert," Khotsenko wrote in his channel on the Max messenger, Interfax reported. Kommersant reported that he urged residents to report all emergencies to 112 and to "trust only verified information", and that he gave no details of the situation. [ 3 , 4 ]
TASS and RIA Novosti first reported the attack at 13:27 and 13:28 local time; RIA Novosti's headline attributed it to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. About an hour later, TASS reported that air defences were continuing to repel the drone attack in Omsk, RBC reported Khotsenko's statement that the attack on the region was continuing, and RIA Novosti reported that air defences were still repelling the drones.
