The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina published preliminary results of the country's general elections, the state news agency TASS and other outlets reported. Vedomosti, citing the portal N1, said Denis Becirovic, Darjana Filipovic and Zeljka Cvijanovic were leading the races for the three seats in the country's tripartite presidency. [ 1 , 2 ]
With 80% of votes counted, Vedomosti reported that Becirovic led the race for the Bosniak seat with 164,369 votes, ahead of Bakir Izetbegovic with 148,036, Semir Efendic with 110,530 and Fahrudin Radoncic with 9,320. In the Croat race, Filipovic led with 92,854 votes, ahead of Slaven Kovacevic with 55,475 and Zdenko Lucic with 44,345. In the Serb race, Cvijanovic, deputy chair of the ruling SNSD party in Republika Srpska, led with 213,812 votes, ahead of Marinko Bozovic with 102,877 and Nebojsa Vukanovic with 67,707. [ 1 ]
After counting more than 96% of ballots, Interfax reported Becirovic of the “United for BiH” movement leading the Bosniak race with 26.78% against Izetbegovic of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) with 23.88%. Filipovic of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) was set to represent Croats in the presidency with 13.89%, and Cvijanovic of the SNSD had 55.33% in the Serb race. [ 4 ]
The same Interfax report gave the commission's partial results for the central and two regional parliaments and for the president of Republika Srpska. In the Republika Srpska presidential race, Savo Minic had 52.08% and his main rival, Branko Blanusa of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), 41.87%. In the Republika Srpska parliament election, the ruling SNSD had 40.93%, the opposition coalition of Banja Luka mayor Drasko Stanivukovic 15.07% and the SDS 13.1%. In the election to the house of representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina parliament, the SDA led with 30.63%, followed by the Social Democratic Party with 15.41% and a coalition of Bosnian Croat parties led by the HDZ with 13.56%.
