Majornine announced on Oct. 6 that its subculture role-playing game Outerplane is receiving a large update, “Bunny Moon Party,” to mark one year since the service was transferred to the company. Pre-registration runs until Oct. 12, and participants will receive separate commemorative rewards afterwards, Kyunghyang Games reported. [ 1 , 2 ]

The update adds a new 3-star companion, Demiurge Lambda, described as a light-attribute attack-type bruiser that uses damage reduction and self-healing to stay in the fight. Kyunghyang Games and Gamemeca said the companion joins the permanent Demiurge lineup and is included in the “Demiurge selective recruitment” pool. A commemorative event dungeon, “감사의 버니문 대작전!”, also opens, telling a story about preparing the Luna Kingdom’s first anniversary while travelling through the countries of Mersha to make a special “moon dumpling”; the currency earned there can be exchanged for rewards. [ 2 , 3 ]

Growth content also expands. The five Elemental Towers — earth, water, fire, dark and light attributes — increase their maximum floors from 100 to 150, with a new boss on each tower’s top floor. A new content, the 100-floor “만상의 탑,” was added; it places no restriction on attributes, letting players use any combination of characters they own. [ 2 , 3 ]

Reward events include a 10-page anniversary bingo in which daily missions unlock equipment, growth currency and companion items, along with separate daily missions and a coin exchange offering dimensional summon tickets, special recruitment tickets and limit-break memory items. [ 2 , 3 ]

The festival also moves offline. Outerplane will take part in Illustar Fest 14 at KINTEX’s first exhibition hall, halls 4 and 5, in Ilsan on Oct. 10 and 11, showing new merchandise and running on-site events. Model Kang In-kyung and cosplayers Jomi and Kim Haru will meet visitors in game-character cosplay, according to Inven, Kyunghyang Games and Gamemeca. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]

Kyunghyang Games reported that Outerplane signed a global publishing contract with Majornine in September last year, with service transferred from Sept. 26, after which the company expanded global service and launched a PC version on Steam in August. The documents do not identify the game’s previous operator or give player or revenue figures for the first year. [ 2 ]

Why it matters

The update is a milestone for Majornine’s first year running Outerplane itself, after it took over global publishing and later added a Steam PC version. The offline appearance at Illustar Fest and the pre-registration campaign show the publisher pushing to hold on to existing players a year into the transition, though the documents give no player or revenue figures to gauge the result.
