Yandex Lavka has extended robotic delivery to 130 of its darkstores in Russia, one in six of the service’s 736 warehouses, TASS and CNews reported. The company’s rovers now carry orders from those points, and CNews said the option gives customers another way to receive an order and helps relieve couriers during order peaks, including in bad weather. [ 1 , 2 ]
CNews reported that the number of orders delivered by rovers in a single day reached 10,000 in September 2026. Robot delivery is currently available in eleven cities: Moscow, St Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Innopolis, Murino, Odintsovo, Dolgoprudny, Lyubertsy, Krasnogorsk and Khimki. [ 2 ]
By the end of 2026 the service plans to connect at least 270 more darkstores, including in two new cities, Voronezh and Tyumen, according to CNews. That would bring rover deliveries to at least 400 locations, more than three times the current number, the outlet said. [ 2 ]
CNews also cited a VTsIOM survey finding that most residents of cities where the robots are not yet present view their arrival positively or neutrally. Respondents listed independence from weather conditions and contactless delivery as advantages, and two-thirds said the development would help address a shortage of couriers, the outlet reported. Beyond Yandex Lavka, Yandex delivery robots serve Yeda, Dostavka and partner companies, and the fleet exceeded 1,000 robots in the second quarter of 2026, according to CNews. [ 2 ]
Why it matters
The figures show robot delivery moving from pilot projects to routine logistics at a large Russian retailer, which the outlets frame as a way to ease pressure on human couriers during order peaks and bad weather. A VTsIOM survey cited by CNews suggests public acceptance in cities that do not yet have the robots, which is where the stated expansion is headed.
