The series has five episodes about the group's specialty materials: the zero-calorie sweetener allulose, isosorbide, a bio material made from corn, ion exchange resin used to produce ultrapure water for semiconductors, SENS (Selectivity Enabling Nano Shell), a gene therapy delivery platform the group developed itself, and surgical sutures that dissolve in the body. Actor Park Jung-min, who appeared in the group's corporate ad last year, was cast again. A Samyang Holdings official told Newsis the ad was planned to show the technology of specialty materials intuitively and pleasantly. Asia Economy quoted the official as saying the ad suits Park's image, expressing hope for public interest and saying the company will continue activities to promote Samyang Group and its specialty business. Yonhap quoted a Samyang Group official as saying the company will continue to promote its various specialty businesses. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
Yonhap added that Samyang Group acquired Soda Aromatic, which it described as one of Japan's five major flavor companies, in May, and is restructuring its business to strengthen its specialty business competitiveness. [ 2 ]
Why it matters
The documents present this as a company brand campaign for its specialty materials business, and give no wider consequences. Samyang said it plans to keep promoting its specialty businesses.
