Seoul to hold autumn Han River festival at parks and on the water from Oct 9 to 25

Seoul city said on Oct 6 that the “2026 Han River Festival_Autumn” and a series of related events will be held at Han River parks and on the water from Oct 9 to 25. Dong-A Ilbo reported the main festival, running Oct 17–25 at seven Han River parks and on the water, carries the theme “taking care of body and mind, Hotdeul Hotdeul Han River”. [ 1 , 2 ]
A picnic concert, “Autumn Romance”, opens the program on Oct 9–11 at Seoraeseom in Banpo Han River Park, with free acoustic, jazz, classical and gugak crossover performances, workshops for making flower keyrings and scented postcards, and a food market, Yonhap reported. At Yeouido Han River Park on Oct 10, a Han River paper airplane festival will decide a 16th champion by flight distance and airtime, with demonstrations by past world competition winners and a paper airplane making session. During Oct 17–25, Jamwon Han River Park will offer rhythm training, pound fit and sliding board sessions, according to both outlets. Yonhap said a “Han River Meal” program will have the YouTuber “the woman who reads recipes”, who has 1.11 million subscribers, make food from convenience store ingredients, and that a musical gala with university musical teams and actors Seo Beom-seok and Lisa will be free to watch. At Ttukseom Han River Park on Oct 23–25, 20 youth chef teams selected through a nationwide call will compete in street food using domestic ingredients and Korean cooking methods; Dong-A Ilbo said the teams will operate food trucks. Gangseo Han River Park will host a nature playground for children with zipline, monkey and tree climbing and rope play on Oct 24–25. On Oct 17, Jamsil Han River Park will hold the “Sagak Sagak Art Festival”, including an art quest for works by artists from 14 creative studios, performances, mother-of-pearl craft making and art psychology programs. Yonhap said some programs require advance reservation, with schedules and application details on the Han River Festival and Han River park websites. The city said the parks are expected to be crowded during the festival and asked visitors to use public transport. Park Jin-young, head of the city’s Future Han River Headquarters, said October’s Han River welcomes residents as “a venue for a comprehensive autumn festival” of exercise, food, music and art, and urged them to make special memories with family, friends and partners.
