Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defenses shot down drones approaching the capital on 4 October, with the count reaching 14 by that evening. Interfax reported the mayor said five more drones were destroyed on the day, bringing the total to 14, while Kommersant reported the same total and that the drones had been destroyed since the night. Sobyanin said emergency services were working at the sites where drone debris fell. Kommersant reported there was no information about destruction or casualties. During the day, Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports said they were accepting and dispatching flights by coordination, and restrictions at Vnukovo and Domodedovo were lifted at 20:04 Moscow time. Two days later, on 6 October, Vedomosti reported that Sobyanin said another 29 drones had been destroyed on approach to Moscow — 19 reported at 07:41 Moscow time and ten more at 08:04. The mayor said 650 Ukrainian drones flew toward the capital during the night and that most were destroyed at distant lines. [ 3 ]
Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said a 20-year-old man died and six other people were injured in the overnight drone attack on the Moscow region, according to Vedomosti. [ 3 ]
The documents give no damage assessment for the 6 October attack and no independent confirmation of the drone figures, which come from the Moscow mayor and, for the casualties, the Moscow region governor.
