The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on October 6 the detention and arrest of a resident of Tambov born in 1971 on suspicion of preparing to blow up cars of employees of a defense-industrial complex enterprise in the region on instructions from Ukrainian special services. [ 1 ]
According to the FSB, the man contacted a representative of Ukrainian special services via the internet and during their communication agreed to carry out the explosions. During preparations for the terrorist act, he conducted reconnaissance of the territory adjacent to the defense enterprise and additionally requested from his curator an explosive substance or a ready-made mine for making an explosive device, the FSB said. The FSB investigation opened a criminal case against him under part 1 of article 30 and part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code (preparation for a terrorist act). The FSB added that operational-search measures and investigative actions are being conducted to check for signs of a crime under article 275 (high treason) and to identify other episodes of unlawful activity.
