Hanyuwon (한유원), the abbreviation of 한국중소벤처기업유통원, said on 22 October that it is running an in-house campaign to support domestic demand and the development of local commercial districts. Chosun Ilbo reported that the aim is also to spread a mood of spending ahead of the Korea Grand Festival (코리아 그랜드 페스티벌). [ 1 , 2 ]
Chief executive Lee Tae-sik (이태식) visited Hwagok Bonbon Market (화곡본동시장) in Yangcheon district, Seoul, near the agency's building, on 21 October with staff. Newsis said auditor Lee Mok-hee (이목희) was also in the group. According to Chosun Ilbo, participants looked around the market, bought fruit and rice-cake snacks, and ate meals there. Yonhap's bulletin item described the agency as under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
The campaign is part of the Korea Grand Festival's 'consumption verification event', which runs until 15 November. Newsis described it as a pre-event of the festival, which opens on 29 October. Participants spend at neighbourhood shops or traditional markets, then post a photo from the site and the festival's official poster with a required hashtag on personal social media accounts. After the event, a draw among participants will award digital Onnuri gift certificates. [ 1 , 2 ]
Chosun Ilbo said anyone in the country can take part. It also reported that the festival begins with an opening ceremony in Andong, North Gyeongsang, on 29 October and lasts 18 days to 15 November, with large online and offline discounts and other consumer benefits. [ 2 ]
Lee said that during the Donghaeng Festival (동행축제) in September last year, an in-house campaign led staff to visit traditional markets more than 80 times. He said that, as the festival's lead organiser, Hanyuwon would take the lead in promoting consumption again this year with a sense of mission. [ 1 , 2 ]
