Nolan North Says He Would Return as Nathan Drake Amid Uncharted 5 Rumors
Коротко
Nolan North, who plays Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series, said at a Gamergy panel in Puerto Rico that he would “110 percent” return to the role if asked, adding that he has heard nothing about a new game. His comments came shortly before reports that a new Uncharted entry is in development at Naughty Dog, which Sony has not officially announced. North said a new Uncharted would be “one of the biggest games ever” if the studio decided to make it.

Nolan North, the actor who portrays Uncharted protagonist Nathan Drake, said he would return to the role if asked, speaking during a panel at Gamergy in Puerto Rico in late August, according to gaming outlets. Asked about coming back, North said “110 percent, absolutely,” adding: “I think it would be one of the biggest games ever if they decided to do it. It just depends if Sony wants to make money.” [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
North said he has not been approached about a new game. “I haven’t heard anything, but you know, it is a business and my God, can you imagine if they did? I mean, it would be the biggest announcement in gaming,” he said, according to the outlets. He added that he tries “to stay in shape, just in case” and that he could not see a scenario in which he would say no. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
The remarks drew attention because of reports that a new Uncharted entry is in production at Naughty Dog. Sony has not officially announced any new Uncharted project, and North said his comments came before those recent rumors. GameSpot noted the rumors followed his panel appearance. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
GamesRadar+ said it has been claimed that the reported installment, which it said is not a remake, would be Naughty Dog’s next game after Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and would star Nathan Drake in some capacity. IGN reported that Naughty Dog has confirmed it has multiple games in the works, and that it is believed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy director Shaun Escayg is leading a team building a fresh entry in the series. IGN also noted it has been a decade since Uncharted 4 released. [ 2 , 3 ]
On timing, GamesRadar+ reported that Intergalactic will get its proper reveal at some point next year after its initial unveiling at the 2024 Game Awards, indicating a long wait if the reported Uncharted project follows it. IGN referred to the title as Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet, while GamesRadar+ called it Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. [ 2 , 3 ]
IGN reported that North acknowledged Naughty Dog would need to avoid an outcome like the fourth Indiana Jones film: “You just don’t want to make a Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” GamesRadar+ placed the comments alongside Sony’s recent decisions to end physical discs for new PlayStation games starting in 2028 and its apparent u-turn on porting single-player games to PC. Почему это важно
The comments keep attention on a franchise that has been dormant since 2016, at a time when gaming outlets report Naughty Dog has multiple projects in the works. Because Sony has made no official announcement, the reporting rests on unconfirmed rumors and one actor’s stated willingness, so nothing about a new game is settled.
