China’s domestic flight fuel surcharge will increase from Oct 10, 2026, according to airline notices reported by Chinese outlets. For tickets issued from 00:00 that day, the surcharge is 50 yuan per passenger on routes of 800 km or less, 10 yuan more than before, and 90 yuan on routes longer than 800 km, 20 yuan more, IT Home and CLS reported. IT Home said the adjustment came in a Jiuyuan Airlines notice that cited official documents on the mechanism linking the domestic passenger fuel surcharge to jet fuel prices. CLS, citing flight data provider 航班管家DAST, said airlines’ latest notices set the new levels. IT Home reported that infant passengers are exempt, while children, disabled revolutionary soldiers and disabled people’s police who qualify for the 50% adult fare pay half the surcharge: 20 yuan on routes of 800 km or less and 40 yuan on longer routes. The surcharge is levied according to the original ticketing date, IT Home reported, and when a ticket is rebooked the surcharge is neither refunded nor supplemented. IT Home listed the year’s adult surcharge levels as 20 yuan and 10 yuan from Jan 5, 120 yuan and 60 yuan from Apr 5, 170 yuan and 90 yuan from May 16, 150 yuan and 80 yuan from Jun 5, 100 yuan and 50 yuan from Jul 5, 70 yuan and 40 yuan from Aug 5, and the new 90 yuan and 50 yuan from Oct 10, for routes over 800 km and up to 800 km respectively.
