Коротко

Russia's Bureau 1440, part of IX Holding, presented a line of subscriber terminals for its low-orbit satellite broadband service at the Digital Solutions forum. The serial 1440.ULTRA offers data rates up to 700 Mbit/s, while the 1440.MINI is a compact concept of about 300×300 mm for portable use. A railway terminal, 1440.ZEMLYA, is being tested on RZD trains.

Russia's Bureau 1440, an aerospace company that is part of IX Holding, presented a line of subscriber terminals for its low-orbit satellite broadband service at the Digital Solutions forum, according to the company. The company said the terminals are its own development and are intended to give users access to the service based on its low-orbit constellation. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]

The serial model, 1440.ULTRA, provides data rates up to 700 Mbit/s and measures 600×600 mm, the same footprint as the pre-serial sample, with mass reduced by 30%. The company said it can be installed stationary at industrial sites, construction sites, remote territories and infrastructure facilities, or used in motion, and that it works across a wide temperature range with IP67 protection against dust and water. [ 1 , 3 ]

Bureau 1440 also showed the 1440.MINI, a compact concept still in development, measuring 300×300 mm and designed to deliver data rates of about 100 Mbit/s. The company said it is intended as portable communications equipment for rescue crews, emergency services and geological expeditions, among other wearable scenarios, and that the start of its production will be announced later. [ 1 , 3 ]

For the railway sector, the company presented the 1440.ZEMLYA terminal, which it said is being used in a test programme on RZD trains. The device is being built to industry standards and is designed for stable data service at speeds up to 400 km/h, with requirements for all types of carriages so that passengers on long-distance trains, Lastochkas and Sapsans can use online services. [ 1 , 3 ]

Kommersant reported that the release of subscriber equipment means preparation not only of the space constellation but also of the ground segment. The outlet said the company put its first 16 serial broadband access satellites into orbit in March 2026 and that first subscribers are to get access to the service before the end of 2026, primarily through Bureau 1440's own terminals. [ 3 ]

The service is to work by transmitting a signal from low-orbit satellites through a subscriber terminal to the operator's complex. Kommersant reported that at the first stage, in 2027, the constellation's signal is to be received by 500 MegaFon base stations in remote areas, and that rollout also depends on terminal prices and demand from government and large commercial customers. [ 3 ]

Почему это важно

The terminals are the user-facing hardware for Bureau 1440's low-orbit broadband constellation, so their release points to preparation of the ground segment alongside the satellites, according to Kommersant. Kommersant also reported that commercial success will depend on terminal prices and demand from government and large commercial customers, and that first-stage service in 2027 is tied to 500 MegaFon base stations. The company has given no timeline for the compact model's production.

  • The city and venue where the Digital Solutions forum took place. None of the documents state the location of the forum.
  • When production of the 1440.MINI concept will begin. The documents say only that the company will announce the timing later.
  • The cost of the terminals and the level of demand from government and large commercial customers. Kommersant says these will determine commercial success, but gives no figures; only one outlet raises the point.
  • Full details of the railway terminal programme and the range of scenarios the terminals will serve. The CNews article text is truncated mid-sentence, so its account of 1440.ZEMLYA is incomplete.
