According to IT Home, OpenAI announced the GPT-6 model series for all ChatGPT users in a post on X on October 8, together with a new Intelligent UI. IT Home reported that ChatGPT has more than 1.2 billion weekly active users worldwide but had until now stayed on the GPT-5.6 series. Over the past few months OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6 Sol and Luna models, which had been available only in ChatGPT Work and Codex, the outlet said. [ 3 ]

With the Intelligent UI, GPT-6 can combine text, images and interactive elements in its replies depending on the user's question, IT Home reported. Replies can include charts and graphics to help explain concepts, as well as clickable buttons, forms and other interactive components. In one example, a user learns how to play mahjong through the interface; OpenAI said users can explore ideas through interactive visuals that respond as they learn, try and discover. [ 3 ]
