Seven people, including one child, were injured in Domodedovo, a town in the Moscow region, during an overnight drone attack, and three residents were hospitalised. TASS reported the injury figure in a headline, and Vedomosti and Kommersant carried the same number, with Kommersant attributing the hospitalisation detail to the district head, Evgenia Khrustaleva. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
Across the Moscow region, governor Andrei Vorobyov said the overnight attack killed two people and injured nine, and that 47 private houses were damaged in seven municipalities, including Domodedovo, Vedomosti reported. Kommersant reported that a man died when a private house collapsed in the village of Lyakhovo, and gave the same regional total of two dead and nine injured. Kommersant also said that 185 drones were shot down over the Moscow region overnight. [ 2 , 3 ]
Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 650 drones flew toward the Moscow region between the evening of 5 October and 05:00 on 6 October, according to Vedomosti. He said 105 of them were shot down on the approach to the capital, most of them at distant lines. Vedomosti also cited a 4 October defence ministry statement about 280 drones destroyed over Russian regions within 12 hours, and said that on that day 14 drones were downed near Moscow and Rosaviatsia temporarily restricted airspace around Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports. [ 2 ]
In Domodedovo, Khrustaleva said a damaged overhead power line, hit by drone debris, caused electricity disruptions, Kommersant reported. She said power had been restored in most gardening associations near the villages of Lyakhovo, Debrecheno, Bekhteevo and the village of Krasny Put, while emergency crews continued working in Lobanovo. Property damage was recorded at 33 addresses, mostly private houses, with three apartment buildings also damaged, she said. The prosecutor's office opened a hotline for those affected. [ 3 ]
Kommersant also described the procedures used after previous attacks that damaged housing, including an operations centre, the filing of claims, door-to-door inspections and commission assessments of damage, and noted that compensation and reconstruction work had been organised in earlier cases. It said restoration can proceed in stages, starting with roofs, balconies, partitions and doors and later covering facades, finishing, plumbing and wiring, and that in one January 2026 case authorities urged absent owners to return to record damage jointly. Why it matters
The reported attack struck residential areas of the Moscow region, damaging private houses and briefly cutting power, and the documents show regional authorities, prosecutors and emergency crews mobilised in response. The figures cited also point to a continued high volume of drone activity directed at the Moscow region and to temporary restrictions on airspace around the capital's airports, as reported for 4 October.
